The Need

United Way of Chattanooga identified “food assistance” as the second greatest need in Chattanooga.

Community members lack the (1) access and (2) knowledge to incorporate nutritious foods into their diet.

Individuals have limited mobility, which creates limited access to markets.

The Solution

Developed and launched a “Buy-One-Give-One” grow-kit initiative to fund expansion into low-income communities.

Partnered to launch a community garden in a prime location, providing fresh food for over 30 local residents.

Partnered with the Chattanooga YMCA Mobile Market to hire a student intern to run the market and extend its sustainability and reach.

Assembled microgreen grow kits which are 40x as nutritious as full-sized vegetables.

Included instructions in each kit on how to properly grow the microgreens.

Developed and launched a “Buy-One-Give-One” grow-kit initiative to fund expansion into low income communities.
